A Database of Israel's Annexation Policy in the West Bank
International law prohibits the annexation of territory captured during armed conflict. Yet Israel is annexing the West Bank by restructuring the legal and bureaucratic framework of its control and taking a wide range of practical measures on the ground. It is doing so without a formal declaration, deliberately blurring the distinction between temporary military administration exercised as a trusteeship and permanent civilian sovereign rule, while gradually dismantling the legal framework governing the administration of occupied territory.
"Our number one goal we set for ourselves when we took over the office within the Defense Ministry was to normalize life in the settlements in Judea and Samaria."
Orit Strock
"Now is the time to annex"
Israel Katz
"This is our land and our home. The Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people. In 1967, the occupation did not begin—it ended."
Amir Ohana
