Investigation of vandalism of Palestinian trees: One indictment in 162 investigations

This year again police failed to investigate cases of vandalism targeting Palestinian trees; there was no systemic effort to prosecute those responsible; 35 new incidents of vandalism of Palestinian trees documented by Yesh Din in the last year; 95% of files processed by the police were closed under circumstances that indicate the failure of the investigation: on grounds of "absence of evidence" or "perpetrator unknown, or investigation files lost and never investigated

State of Israel wishes to resume building on private Palestinian land in 40 settlements in violation of a Supreme Court ruling (the Elon Moreh case) and the rules of international law

The state wants to officially renew building on private Palestinian land in 40 settlements built on land seized by military orders before 1979. This came to light in the state’s response to the High Court of Justice in a petition by a Palestinian resident of the village of Dura al-Qara, submitted by Yesh Din, against the illegal construction of two buildings on the edge of Beit El, in an area seized for military purposes
